Wood Craft for New Year’s Eve - 2012 Wooden Centerpiece

Celebrate into the new year with lots of sparkle and glitz! This wood craft is very easily made and can be used as a centerpiece on a table or as a shelf decoration at your New Year’s Eve party.

New Year's Wood Craft - 2012 Wooden Centerpiece

For this project you will need:

- plywood, 10 mm thick
- Window’s font “Victorian LET”
- acrylic paint in the colors of lime green, fuschia pink, yellow, white and purple
- glitter in the same colors as the acrylic paint
- paint brushes
- craft glue
- hot glue gun

Height including base: 20 cm

This how the numbers look.

0 Zero 2

1 One 1

2 Two 2

Instructions:

1. Print out the numbers 0, 1 and 2 using the above mentioned font. Print out the numbers to a height you prefer. These were created at a height of 15 cm.
2. Transfer the pattern onto the wood and saw out. Sand the surfaces and sides and then paint your numbers in the appropriate colors.
3. Cut a rectangle base to a length and width that will fit to your numbers and saw the wood out. Paint it white.
4. Once the paints are dry, apply a thin coat of glue on the front surfaces of each number. Work each number one at a time. After you have applied the glue, shake the matching color of glitter to coat the surface. Tap excess glitter off of the surface and let it dry. Do this to each number as well as the base.
5. Now you can hot glue the numbers to the base piece.
