Wooden Rooster and Hen Decoration in a Patchwork Look
With colorful thin paper and glue, you can alter plain wooden items into colorful and cheery pieces of art. No matter what, your creation will be unique.
For this project you will need:
- 8 mm thick plywood - thin paper of choice - here bright and cheery papers with yellow were used - the base was covered with paper in a green color - Decopatch glue - flat paint brush - hen and rooster templates - these figures were pre-cut but you can use the templates below to acquire the basic hen and rooster shapes
Craft Templates You Can Use For This Project:
Hen Template - Use the basic shape of the hen and add feet
1. Cut out the desired figures as well as a base for each. Decorate the figures and bases individually. 2. Tear several pieces of Decopatch paper. Add Decopatch glue to the wooden figures and use the paint brush to “paint” the paper onto the wood. Brush glue over the paper as well as around it and add the next piece by overlapping it over the first. Continue in this manner until the entire figure is covered. 3. When finished either glue them together or screw them together (drill a hole through both base and bottom of the figure and use a screw to hold them together).
