Christmas and Winter Crafts

Winter Wood Craft - Happy Winter Snowmen Sign

This sign uses the same pattern as this Wooden Snowmen Sign project. It shows how by just changing the colors can achieve you a totally different look.

 

 

Happy Winter Snowmen Welcome Sign

For this project you will need:

- 4 or 6 mm plywood (about 1/4 inch thick) acrylic paints in the colors of white, blue, orange and black
- black fine permanent marker
- flat paint brushes
- standard wood sawing supplies
- Windows Font “Curlz MT”
- drill with 1.5 mm bit
- blue ribbon
- silver wire for hanging
- wood glue

Instructions:

1. Print out the pattern and transfer on the wood. You will need one snowman form and 3 noses.
2. Paint the snowmen white and let dry.
3. Dry brush the edges of the snowmen with blue. Paint the noses orange and let dry.
4. Use your black permanent marker to create details on faces and noses.
5. Tie the scarves on the snowmen.
6. Drill a hole in both end snowmen. Saw a sign out about the width of your snowmen. Make the 2 sides in zig-zag pattern.
7. Drill 2 holes in the bottom of the sign above where the snowmen head holes.
8. Print out your font and transfer the markings onto the sign. Paint the letters in blue.
9. Use the wire to connect the sign to the snowmen.
10. Drill 2 holes in the top center of the sign and insert a wire for hanging. Tie bows at the hanging wires if desired.
