Scroll Saw and Wood Crafts for Christmas and Winter - “Let it Snow” Singing Snowman Trio Door Sign

Snow makes the holiday season extra special and this merry group of snowmen are happily singing Christmas carols and wishing for lots more of it. This project is easy to saw out and makes a really cute gift for friends and neighbors. It can also be left hanging on the door all winter long.

 

 

Supplies needed:

- 4 or 6 mm plywood (about 1/4 inch thick)
- acrylic paints in the colors of white, dark
  red, dark blue, dark green and orange
- black fine permanent marker
- flat paint brushes
- standard wood sawing supplies
- Font from the internet - here was the
  Windows Font “Hobo” size 72 used
- drill with 1.5 mm bit
- silver wire for hanging
- wood glue

 

 

Winter and Christmas Wood Craft - Let it Snow Snowmen

 

Instructions:

1. Print out the pattern and transfer on the wood. You will need one snowman form and 3 scarves.
2. Paint the snowmen white and let dry.
3. Paint the scarves in red, blue and green and set aside to dry.
4. Dry brush the edges of the snowmen with blue. Paint the noses orange and let dry.
5. Drybrush the scarf details with white and when dry, use your black permanent marker to create stitching lines.
6. Use the black permanent marker to draw the eyes and mouths of the snowmen.
7. Glue the scarves on the snowmen.
8. Drill a hole in both end snowmen. Saw a sign out about the width of your snowmen. Make the 2 sides in zig-zag pattern.
9. Drill 2 holes in the bottom of the sign above where the snowmen head holes.
10. Print out your font and transfer the markings onto the sign. Paint the letters in a color of choice. We used red.
11. Use the wire to connect the sign to the snowmen.
12. Drill 2 holes in the top center of the sign and insert a wire for hanging.
