Our Frosty here is only too happy that the winter has finally arrived. This project has only 2 pieces to saw out and is easy to paint. Print out in a size to fit your needs. This particular snowman measures about 30 centimeters high (excluding the base). You can choose to create a really large snowman to use as a porch or lawn decoration.
For this project you will need:
- 10 mm thick wood - green, white, red and orange acrylic paints - clear sealant - drill with bit - wood screw long enough for going through the base and some of the tree - screw used here is 50 mm long - paint brush
1. Print out the snowman pattern and transfer the markings onto wood. Create a base out of a rectangular shaped of wood for the base. Saw out and sand if necessary. 2. Paint the snowman on both sides in your own style or as you see in the picture above. To create the speckled effect, a toothbrush was dipped into white paint. Then a finger was brushed over the bristles to cause the paint to splatter onto the object. 3. Cut and paint the base white and let it dry. Then drill a hole through the base piece and the snowman base and then screw the base to the snowman. 3. Now brush 2-3 coats of clear sealant on the snowman and base. This is especially important if the snowman will be an outdoor decoration. Let the decoration dry in between coats.
