Christmas Crafts - Christmas Cards - Candle Glow

Christmas time is crafting time! Why not create handmade Christmas cards for your friends, family and co-workers. This card is simple, yet elegant and easy to complete. You do not need a lot of time and it needs minimal materials. Experiment and change colors and motifs. You will find yourself making more than just one of these and each will be individual! Here is an example of another card of this type.

For this project you will need:
- blank white card
- red corrugated cardboard
- white vellum with white print “Merry Christmas” in different languages (or design of your choice)
- hole puncher with 4 eyelets
- red fiber paper
- strong double-sided self adhesive sticky tape
- glue stick
- red star gem

Instructions:
1. Design a simple candle form combined with a star similar to the motif on this card. Of course, you may choose any other shape you desire.
2. Cut the design out of corrugated cardboard and lay aside.
3. Tear an irregular piece of the fiber paper out and use the stick glue to adhere this piece to the card in the middle.
4. Cut out a rectangle piece of the vellum that is smaller than the size of the card.
5. Lay the vellum on the card and punch a hole through each corner of the vellum and through the card as well.
6. Secure all of the holes with eyelets of your choice.
7. Use the double-sided self sticking tape and stick the corrugated cardboard motif to the card.
8. Stick the star gem to the motif also using the double-sided self sticking tape.
