Sparkling Christmas Tree Christmas Card

In the stores there is a remarkable choice of Christmas cards to choose from but no card says “ I care about you” as much as a card that you created yourself. This particular card is was created using the Sizzix e-clips machine and a Christmas cartridge. Little rhinestones give the card its sparkle. Following the basic layout of the card, you can vary on colors or even change the motif to create a set of different cards, depending on what you have available in your craft supplies. Some people are natural poets. Some are not. If you do not know what to write in your card after you have made it, you can find websites with sayings, phrases and poems that you can use. Also, you can buy poem books with wonderful Christmas and winter poems to use for your cards.

Christmas Card - Sparkling Tree Greeting Card for the Holidays

These supplies were used to make this card:

- blank white card 11 x 17.5 cm in size
- green cardstock
- textured off-white cardstock
- green gingham ribbon
- strong double-sided self adhesive sticky tape
- glue stick
- small clear rhinestones
- Sizzix e-clips machine
- ”Sizzix e-clips cartridge “Christmas and Traditions Alphabet”

If you do not have a die cutting machine to create the tree, use this pattern or another one of our Christmas tree patterns found starting here: Christmas Patterns and Templates

Instructions:

1. Die cut or cut out a Christmas tree at a height of 8 cm and a width of approximately 5.8 cm. Adhere the tree to a piece of white cardstock measuring 6.3 x 8.5cm in size. Then adhere this piece onto a green cardstock rectangle measuring 6.8 x 9 cm. Set aside for a moment.
2. Cut out a 9 x 11 cm rectangle out of the textured off-white cardstock and adhere it to the bottom of the blank white card. Use gingham ribbon and cover the seam with it.
3. Now place a piece of double-sided tape on the backside of the Christmas tree motif rectangle and stick it onto the card. Glue the small rhinestones randomly onto the tree.
4. “Merry Christmas” was created using the Sizzix e-clips machine and the Christmas cartridge. If you do not have these, you can use stickers as an alternative, you can also stamp the message onto your card or you can print out the text using your printer and green ink. The “i” in the word Christmas was dotted also with a rhinestone.
