Christmas Card With Birds

All winter we enjoy watching the little birds that come to our feeder. Some winters we have a lot of snow and the birds cannot find enough to eat. We see it as our duty to help these little guys make it through until spring. It just seems appropriate to also make a card honoring these little guys that keep us entertained throughout the whole winter.

The embossed papers give the card a lot of extra detail.

For this project you will need:

- white 13.5 x 13.5 centimeter square card
- white, red and gold cardstock
- diecutting and embossing machine of your choice
- embossing folder with dots (here from Cuttlebug) and an embossing plate with ivy leavs (here from Sizzix)
- 9 cm circle die from company of your choice or a compass to create a 9 cm circle
- fusible web
- iron
- baking paper
- stick glue
- double sided adhesive
- 3-D foam tape
- 4 little gold gems for the corners
- glue for adhering gems

Instructions:

1. You will first need to applique the fabric to a piece of white cardstock. Follow the fusing fabric tuturial to learn about fusing fabric to cardstock. Then cut out the motif or motifs you wish to use for your card. Set aside for a moment.
2. Cut a 12 x 12 centimeter square out of gold cardstock. Emboss it with the ivy embossing plate and then adhere it to the card.
3. Cut a 9 cm circle and emboss it with the dots embossing folder. Adhere it centered onto the square.
4. Use 3-D foam tape and adhere the motifs to the card. Use the picture as an idea for placement.
5. Glue a small gem in each of the 4 corners of the square.
