This can be a new decoration for the spring and is a great project for a novice wood crafter. The hen sits perfectly on any shelf, does not require too much space and is easily made.
For this project you will need:
- acrylic paint in white, red, orange, yellow, light brown, and black - paint brushes - thin wire - drill with small bit - wood glue - tracing paper - pencil
1. Print out the pattern. The size of the hen may be decreased or increased as desired. 2. The body gets then painted with white acrylic paint, his comb with red and the beak and feet with yellow. 3. Then with a toothbrush, contrast colors get speckled onto the pieces to give them some dimension. 4. Once dried, the beak and comb get glued on with wood glue. 5. On his head and on the comb, 2 small holes get drilled and then the comb gets attached to the head with 2 wires.
