Spring and Easter Crafts

Spring Crafts - Wood Crafts - Wooden Tulips Decoration

No flower says spring more than colorful tulips. These flowers have the advantage that they will brighten up your window sill and never wilt.

Wooden Tulips

For this project you will need:

- plywood, 10 mm thick
- acrylic paint in green, dark green, ... and any colors you wish your tulips to be like red or yellow
- wood glue
- 5 mm diameter wooden dowels: 2 wooden dowels 12 cm long and one wooden dowel 14 cm long for the
  tulip stems
- drill with 5 mm bit

Pattern: Wooden Tulips Template

Height including base: 20 cm

Instructions:

1. Print out the pattern so the height of the tulip flower measures 8 centimeters. Transfer the markings onto the wood and saw the pieces out. You will also need a piece of wood for the base measuring 21 x 6 centimeters.
2. Paint the pieces accordingly and drybrush the edges to add more depth.
3. Drill a hole in the center of the 3 leaf pieces and in the bottoms of each tulip. See “x” markings on pattern.
4. Insert the wooden dowel in the holes to assemble the tulips. If necessary, add a drop of glue to the holes.
5. Glue the flowers to the base. To add stability to the tulips, poke a small hole through the bottom of the leaf pieces and in the base and insert a broken tooth pick in the holes to hold each tulip in place.
