You can sew this chick and use it in different ways:
1. Create a set of these as egg warmers. Egg warmers are decorative and practical. After boiling an egg, place the egg inside of this felt figure to cover it and keep it hot until breakfast. 2. Another example would be to create a doll out of the pattern. Sew as written in the instructions below, stuff slightly and sew the bottom closed. It can be used to decorate Easter baskets. 3. Create these figures for kindergarten kids to use as hand puppets.

For this project you will need:
- Yellow textile felt 3-4 mm thick - stiff red felt scrap for beak - 3 yellow feathers - red checked ribbon - thin wire - flower button - 2 black seed beads - yellow sewing thread - fabric or textile glue - artist chalk for the cheeks

Instructions:
1. Print out the pattern to a size that you would like to use. This chick measures 13 cm tall. 2. Transfer and cut the pieces out of the felt. You will need two body pieces. The body is made using the soft felt and the beak using the stiff felt. 3. Pin and sew the body pieces together. Leave the bottom open. Enclose the feathers between the two layers while sewing. You will need one on each side and one at the top. 4. Use textile glue to glue the beak onto the chick. 5. Sew on the seed bead eyes and the button. 6. Tie a piece of ribbon into a simple bow and glue on to the chick. How to make a simple bow 7. Brush on rosy cheeks using artist chalks.
