Instructions:
1. First of all, hot glue the two wide ends of the egg carton together.
Then use a dot of glue to secure the end of the scrubby yarn at the top of the egg carton cut out.
2. Add a bit of glue to the top and press a bit of yarn to cover the area.
3. Then start wrapping the yarn tightly around the piece. When you want to change colors, do not cut off the first color. Instead let the color hang down like you see here.
4. Then add a dot of glue to secure the end of the second color. Start wrapping it around the egg carton. Keep holding down the first color’s string. It will then be hidden underneath the second color.
5. When you want to change colors again, hold down the second color string and then start wrapping again with the first color.
6. Continue alternating colors. When you get to the middle it could become tricky because it is a bit thicker than the rest of the egg carton. You can add a couple of small drops of glue to hold the yarn in place if necessary while wrapping it.
After you reach the middle, it is a little more difficult than it was before the middle. It does not want to stay in place because the size of the egg carton is decreasing. Again, a couple of drops of glue will hold the yarn in place. Once you get to the end, cover the top center just as you did at the beginning of the ornament.
7. Open up a paper clip and cut it shorter. Create a loop at one end. Insert the other end in hot glue and then insert it into the top of the ornament to create a hanger for hanging.
8. Here you see the loop created. Hang the ornament with scrubby yarn to keep the look..
