Christmas Crafts - Christmas Cards - Winter Town

It is hard to imagine winter without snow. Around the holidays we long for quaint winter landscapes to make that seasonal feeling complete. This charming old fashioned scene makes a wonderful motif for this Christmas card. Dimensional paint adds a lovely touch of winter to this card.

Supplies Needed:

- White blank card
- paper napkin with winter scene
- dimensional paint in white
- fusible web
- scraps of white cardstock
- 3-D foam or pads
- stick glue
- scissors

Christmas Card - Winter Town Greeting Card for the Holidays

Instructions:

1. Read the instructions below for paper napkin applique using fusible web. You will need 1/4 of the paper napkin to use as a background scene. This gets directly ironed on to the blank white card. Any excess hanging over the card gets cut away.
2. Select motifs of a second 1/4 of the paper napkin. Follow these instructions
Paper Napkin Applique with Fusible Web for fusing the web onto the backside of the napkins. Cut the motifs roughly out, remove the paper backing, iron on to the white cardstock and then cut the motifs exactly out. Depending on your paper napkin, the motifs could be anything that can be individually cut out to use as a 2nd layer. In this card, the tree and the sledding children were used.
3. Apply 3-D foam or pads to the backside of the motifs and position them on the card over the same original motif. The figures now look 3-D on the card.
4. Embellish the card with dimensional paint to give it a snowy look. Dot the sky with snowflakes and enhance anything that needs snow. Let the paint thoroughly dry.
