Beaded Snowflake / Star Christmas Tree Ornament

This ornament is very easy to make and you can get the whole family involved. Acrylic or glass beads get added on each spoke in a pattern that you choose and you have your ornament. The combination possibilities are unendless. The supplies and instructions are for this particular star and below you will find more examples to other snowflakes / stars.

For this project you will need:

- wire star form 10 cm in diameter and with 16 spokes (8 spokes are longer than the other 8)
- 24 x 8 mm blue round faceted beads
- 24 x 8 mm oval faceted beads
- 8 x 8 mm diamond shaped clear beads
- 16 x 12 mm long silver tube beads
- 8 x 7 mm long silver tube beads
- needle nose pliers
- soldering iron with solder

These are the beads used for the above clear snowflake.

Instructions:

1. Work on one spoke at a time. Add one each of the following beads listed in the order listed to each long spoke. At the end of each finished with each spoke, form a loop using the needle nose pliers to prevent the beads from falling off.

- 1 x 8 mm round faceted bead
- 1 long tube bead
- 1 x 8 mm oval faceted bead
- 1 long tube bead
- 1 x 8 mm round faceted bead

Add one each of the following beads listed in the order listed to each short spoke. At the end of each finished with each spoke, form a loop using the needle nose pliers to prevent the beads from falling off.

- 1 short tube bead
- 1 x 8mm oval faceted bead
- 1 x 8 mm round faceted bead
- 1 x 8 mm oval faceted bead
- 1 diamond shaped bead

2. Use perlon thread to hang once snowflake is finished.

If you wish to make your own stars (you can vary on the length if your like you will need:

- 3mm thick craft wire in gold or silver (4 pieces each measuring 10 cm)
