Birthday Cards - Greeting Cards - ”Duck Card”

If you know a young child who has a birthday coming up, craft that child a personal birthday card using paper napkin applique. It is so easy and you can create a card to match your taste. The selection of paper napkin motifs is huge and if you do not like to use napkins, you can also look at a fabric store. There is also a large selection of fabrics with all types of children’s motifs. This particular motif came from a paper napkin.

 

 

Supplies Needed:

-
White card stock with matching
  envelope
- turquoise colored cardstock (or
  cardstock to match your motif)
- paper ribbler
- decorative edged scissors
- paper napkin or fabric with motif
- white cardstock
- fusible web
- piece of fiber paper
- hole puncher
- 2 silver colored eyelets
- motif puncher with sunshine
- stick glue
- 3-D pads
- printer if desired

Birthday Card - Greeting Card - Cute Duck Birthday Card for Kids

 

Instructions:

1. Cut out of the colored cardstock a long triangle and place it through the paper ribbler to give it a corrugated look. Glue this piece onto the blank white cardstock.
2. Prepare the paper napkin or fabric as instructed below in the link. Cut it out to a square shape.
3. Use the decorative edged scissors and cut the top right corner diagonally off parallel to the triangle on the other side.
4. Cut a 2 cm strip of the colored cardstock also using the decorative edged scissors and glue this piece behind the cut triangle area of the card.
5. Punch a sunshine motif out and use the 3-D pads to stick it to the seen portion (left open from the triangle cut out) of the inside of the card.
6. Glue a piece of fiber paper randomly on the card.
7. Glue the prepared motif over the fiber paper.
8. Print Happy Birthday on a piece of the colored cardstock and cut a retangle shape out.
9. Punch 2 holes in the top of the message piece and simultaneously through the card.
10. Attach the message with the eyelets through these holes.
