Autumn Crafts - Crafting with Glass Paints - Patchwork Block Window Clings

Combine the look of patchwork with window color painting. Create your own pattern, find a pattern in the internet or look through books with patchwork patterns to inspire you. You can select from a 9-block pattern or a 16-block pattern. What also looks decorative making more blocks and putting them in a horizontal or vertical row or rows. This creates a completely new pattern and resembles a quilt blanket.

Basic Craft for Fall - Ohio Star Patchwork Block Window Cling

For this project you will need:

- glass paint outliner in black
- glass paint in colors of your choice according to the season or to fit to your home furnishings
- stable acetate foil and pattern of choice

Instructions:

1. On a piece of paper, draw the desired pattern. Lay the acetate foil over the pattern and use the black outliner paint to trace the drawn lines.
2. Make as many blocks as desired and let all of the blocks completely dry. This takes about 2 hours.
3. Fill in the pattern with colors of your choice, leaving no holes.
4. Let the paint dry for about 24 hours.
5. Once dry, you can cut out the square(s). Stick them to the window with the painted side touching the window. The reverse side of the foil is the side facing you.
6. These can be removed again if done carefully and reused if desired.
