Decoupaged Fall Clay Pot with Pumpkins
Give your house plants the warm look of fall colors by decoupaging paper napkin napkins onto ordinary terra-cotta pots. The advantage of this technique is that the motifs look as if they have been painted onto the pots. This is great for those with minimal time.

For this project you will need:
- terra-cotta clay pots in size of your choice - light colored acrylic paint and a second color acrylic paint as a contrast - here brown and gold were used - decoupage glue - paint brushes - paper napkins with fall motifs such as pumpkins or leaves - old toothbrush - scissors

Instructions:
1. The first thing you need to do is to base coat under the rim of the pot twice with a light paint and let the pot thoroughly dry. This takes about a half an hour in normal room temperature. 2. At the top rim of the pot, paint a contrast border if desired and let it dry.
3. For a special effect, you can dip your toothbrush in the darker paint and sprinkle paint over the lighter color to give the pot an interesting look. You can also choose to dry brush light streaks of contrast color onto the pot to give it an aged look. 4. Follow the step-by-step tutorial in the link below to apply your paper napkin motif.

The technique is so easy that even school aged children can do it without too much trouble.
