Christmas and Winter Crafts

Christmas Craft Projects - Clay Pot Crafts - Terracotta Pot Christmas Candle Holder

When the winter evenings are chilly, this decoration warms the heart. Choose a motif with a rustical country look. With a small tealight in the center, the design lights up with a winter glow. The motif is a paper napkin decoupaged onto the inside of a flower pot. Perhaps you know someone who can cut you a couple of unused pots this way. Otherwise, at some craft stores, you can buy such open pots. A broken pot could also look interesting.

Christmas Craft - Flower Pot Tea Light Holder

For this project you will need:

- terracotta flower pots
- paper napkin with design of your choice
- acrylic paint matching the design of the paper napkin
- acrylic paint in white
- paper napkin applique glue
- snow paint (paste)
- paintbrushes
- tea light

Instructions:

1. Base coat inside the flower pot with white paint and let thoroughly dry.
2. Paint the outside of the flower pot with the color of your choice and let dry.
3. Following the instructions below, apply the napkin to the inside of the pot on the backside. The inside of the short front part of the pot may be left white.
4. When the glue is dry, apply textured snow paste to details of the napkin where snow is wished. Also apply the snow paste to the outside rim of the pot. Let the paste dry overnight.
5. Set the tea light in the middle of the inside of the pot.
