Hanging Paper Pumpkin
This project is easy for school aged kids to craft, is lots of fun and adds a warm fall look to your home. The hand-stitching give it an additional country charm. A fun idea is to find an interesting tree branch outdoors and insert this in in a vase and hang your pumpkin on it along with other fall and Halloween motifs. You can also glue a green painted wooden skewer to the backside to create a plant poke.

Instructions:
1. Print out the pumpkin and stem patterns and trace onto the appropriate colored cardstocks. When cutting your motifs out, lay a second sheet of same colored cardstock under the first and cut the motif doubled out. This will guarantee that the zig-zag pattern is the same on both sides. 2. Glue the stems on the backsides of the pumpkins making sure that the directions match. Now glue the 2 pumpkin halves together. This gives the pumpkin extra stability. 3. Pierce the holes around the pumpkin using your piercing tool. 4. Stitch the holes around the pumpkin. 5. Cut 3 triangle shapes and a “w” shape using your pinking shears. Glue these to the pumpkin front. 6. Pierce holes in the facial features and also stitch them to the pumpkin. 7. Pierce a hole in the middle of each eye. 8. Add the sequin and pearl. 9. Take your needle and now go into the sequin hole again and secure in the back. 8. Tie a raffia bow and adhere to the top of the pumpkin. 9. Use a piece of wire to create a loop at the top of the pumpkin for hanging.
