Summer Craft - Decoration for Outdoors - Decopatch Ball Yard Decoration

It is so easy and inexpensive to create unique yard decorations with a styrofoam ball, an acrylic ball and decopatch paper. These look really appealing especially amongst green plants or a green grassy area.

Yard Decoration

For this project you will need:

- styrofoam ball about 10 centimeters in size (about
  4 - 4.5 inches)
- an acrylic ball that can be opened in two halves
that is a bit larger than the styrofoam ball (the
styrofoam ball must be able to fit in the acrylic ball
when the two halves are closed)
- decopatch paper
- decopatch glue
- aluminum wire
- wooden stick about 6-8 millimeters in diameter -
length is your choice depending on your needs
- tape
- hot glue

Instructions:

1. Tear the decopatch paper in various sized pieces. Then cover the entire styrofoam ball with the decopatch paper and let the ball dry. This can take up to an hour depending on the warmth and humidity of the area you live.

2. Then enclose the styorfoam ball withing the acrylic ball. Line up the hanging hole. You will need this part later to glue the stick to.

3. Saw your stick to the size you need it to be. Take a piece of aluminum wire and spiral curl it around an object that is round and wider than the stick plus the hanging hole when held together.

4. Hot glue the stick to the hanging hole. When dry, use tape to wrap around the glued area of the hanging hole and the stick to add more stability. When done, slip the coiled wire around this area to cover it up and give it a nice finished. Turn over and it is ready to place in the garden or yard.
