Now add a crimp bead where you would like to have the fastener at and squeeze it tight with pliers. 3. Slide the clamshell fastener over the crimping bead. 4. Use flat pliers and close the clamshell so that it encloses the crimping bead. 5. Snip away any ends hanging out of the clamshell fastener. Now add your closure piece to the hook of the clamshell fastener. 6. Use pliers again and now close the hook.
