Illustrated Craft Tutorial - How To Start and Finish Off Bracelets and Necklaces
This is one of the many ways to finish off a basic jewelry piece. It is a simple technique to learn.

1. The first step is to insert your wires through the clamshell fastener with the “open mouth” towards the wire ends.
|
|
|
2. Now add a crimping bead where you would like to have the fastener at and squeeze it tight with pliers. The crimping bead cannot be moved anymore.

3. Slide the clamshell fastener over the crimping bead.
|
|
|
4. Use flat pliers and close the clamshell so that it encloses the crimping bead.
|
|
|
5. Snip away any ends hanging out of the clamshell fastener. Now add your closure piece to the hook of the clamshell hook fastener.
|
|
|
6. Use pliers again and now close the hook. Repeat this step for the other end of the jewelry piece.
