11. Insert the bottom right leg of the “x” through the pocket of the bottom right (yellow) strip and pull all the way through..
12. Now your work looks like this.
13. Then insert the bottom left leg of the “x” through the pocket of the top left strip (blue) and pull all the way through.
14. Now your work looks like this. Like a “v”. Shorten the ends of all of your strips some so that they are at an angle so they match in length.
15 Then insert the top right (black) into the pocket of the strip next to it (blue) and pull it all the way through.
16. Now it looks like this.
17. Cut away any excess paper that extends beyond the blue pocket, leaving only the loop created.
18. Repeat for the left strip (blue). Insert it into the pocket to the left, pull through and cut the excess paper away.
19. Flip your work over and repeat the exact steps you did on the previous side. Here the right strip (orange) was inserted into the left pocket, pulled through and the excess paper was then cut away.
20. The final strip, the left one (yellow) now gets inserted into the left pocket, pulled through and the excess paper cut away.
21. Now you have a finished heart. Once you get the hang of it, you will surely be making more of these. If you vary the width of the paper, you will get hearts of different sizes. But remember, the wider the paper, the longer it has to be, too.
