1. Cut each of the 2 fabrics and also the batting to 24 x 48 cm size. If using hand towels as for the bathroom utility basket, use the towels the size they are. Pin the batting on the backside of the lining fabric (the fabric that will be on the inside of the bag).
2. Now pin the right side of the lining to the right side of the outer fabric.
3. Sew down both of the short sides of the three layers.
4. Now match the two seams in the middle.
5. Now you will sew down both of the long sides. Make sure to leave an opening for turning on one of the sides of the outer fabric. Preferably on the half where there is no lining.
6. The fabric now looks like this.
7. You see here the opening for turning the bag afterwards.
8. Now cut 4 cm squares off of each corner.
9. On each of the four corners... open ...
10. ...and press the two straight edges together.
11. Sew a 7-10 mm line across the edge. Do this to all corners. Trim seam allowance, if necessary.
12. Now it is time to turn the bag. Pull the fabric gently through the opening.
13. Now it looks like this. Does not really look like a bag at the moment but that will change right away.
Iron this piece first and reach something like a crochet hook through the still open hole and make the corners come out nice.
14. And now insert the lining into the bag.
15. The opening on the side now needs to be hand sewn.
16. First iron it flat.
17. And hand sew it with a slip stitch so that the stitches cannot be seen afterwards.
18. Now the side is closed. Fold down the cuff and enjoy your bag.
