Natural Straw Star Ornaments

Straw stars are very popular in Germany as ornaments for the Christmas tree. There is a natural and humble look to them which fits perfectly to a real Christmas tree. There are very elaborate stars that can be made but today we will create this beginner’s star in which flat straw pieces are placed over each other in a star shape. An easy craft for adults and school-aged kids alike.

For this project you will need:

- 3 pieces of natural straw about 30 cm long
- sharp scissors
- iron
- large bowl of warm water
- gold thread for tying off
