Embellished Paper Maché Letters
Those big paper maché letters you see in craft stores are perfect for embellishing with scrapbook paper and dies and then giving as a personal gifts. These are two examples of the letters “M” and “N” and how they can be decorated and embellished.

For this project you will need:
- paper maché letters (these measure about 20 centimeters or 8 inches) - assorted scrapbook paper in coordinating colors - diecutting and embossing machine such as Sizzix Big Shot or Cuttlebug - assorted dies of your choice (all dies used here are Sizzix dies) - chipboard diecuts - cardboard such as that from a cereal box - buttons,beads and bobs for embellishing - decoupage glue - acrylic paint matching the paper - paint brush

Instructions:
1. First base coat the letter in the color of choice. Let the paint dry. 2. Trace both sides of the letter on the backside of scrapbook paper and cut out the shape slightly smaller than the original letter. Then glue the scrapbook paper letter onto both sides of the paper mache letter. Afterwards, dry brush the paint then around the paper to give it an softer look. 3. Now the embellishments: For firmer die cuts, first adhere scrapbook paper to cardboard and then die cut the image. Otherwise die cut the embellishments from scrapbook paper. Arrange embellishments as you please and decorate with buttons or other items.
