Illustrated Craft Tutorial:
This is how the template will look like. Now it is a sturdy template to trace around. This is especially helpful when the kids want to make several leaves.
Instructions for one leaf:
1. Once you have created your permanent templates with the cereal box, trace the shapes onto brown cardstock. Then cut out the shapes.
2. Place the thin paper over the shape and trace between the outer and inner line. Here an image using transparent paper shows you how it should be traced. It does not have to look perfect because the paper will be sandwiched between two leaf layers. It is only important that the paper covers the aperture in the middle of the leaf. Then cut out the traced shape.
3. Glue the traced shape now onto one of the brown leaves. Then glue the second brown leaf to sandwich the thin paper between the leaves.
4. Now the leaf will look good from both sides.
