Wine Cork Upcycling - Mini Spring Flower Beds

These are probably the tiniest flower beds you have ever seen and are so easily made using wine corks, paper and wire. They are a cute way to adding a touch of spring to the smalles places such as a desk at work or a small shelf needing a little color. the clovers would be, for example, a good decorating idea for St. Patrick’s Day.

For this project you will need:

- wine corks
- paper punches of flowers or clovers or print out the tulips in the link below
- construction paper in the colors of green, yellow, white, pink, orange, purple, etc...
- thin florist wire
- needle for punching holes in the cork
- glue to hold the wire to the paper flower pieces

Illustrated Craft Tutorial:

1. Slice a piece off one side of each cork so you will have a flat side to place it on.

2. Either punch out shapes or...

3. ... print out the tulip template so that the height of both pieces measure just less than 1 1/2 inches.

4. Cut small wire pieces and glue the wire to the backsides of the flowers and leaves, if there are any. Let dry.

5. Use a needle to poke holes in the top of the wine cork and then insert the bottoms of the wires into the holes. Fill the area of the cork as you please.

Each flower “bed” is just as pretty as the next.

Clovers would make a cute small St. Patrick’s Day decoration for the desk at work.
