Home for Christmas Card

Being home at Christmas time is always special. This card shows a welcoming warm and festively decorated house in midst the snowy landscape. Just the place to be to enjoy a cup of hot cocoa and spending the time with the ones you love during the holidays.

Christmas Card - Home for the Holidays Greeting Card for the Holidays

For this project you will need:

- white card
- heavy aquarell paper, 300 g /m² in weight
- light blue card stock
- rubber or clear stamps with winter trees motifs and a country cabin
Danish Clear Stamps for Christmas
The trees from this clear stamp set was used for this card

- stamp with Christmas sentiment
- black pigment stamping ink
- embossing powder
- heating tool
- water color pencils
- paint brush with water or water brush
- embossing machine of choice
- craft glue
- 3-D foam tape
- scissors and ruler

Instructions:

1. Stamp and emboss the cabin and tree motifs. Three trees, one larger tree and two smaller ones, were created for this card. Once the motifs are embossed, color with aquarell pencils. For the trees, a small amount of blue was colored on only one side of the tree. Use a small paint brush and water to soften the colors and create a pastel effect. The cabin was colored with two shades of brown, one lighter and one darker. If the colors are still too light when you have added water, let them dry and then you can color areas again and repaint them with water until you get the look you want. For example on the cabin, more dark brown was added to certain areas to add more depth to the wood look. Once all your motifs are dry, cut them out with a small white border.
2. Emboss blue card stock and a piece of the aquarell paper with the embossing folders. Cut these down to fit the card. Cut the aquarell paper in a way that it looks like a hilly landscape. Adhere the paper then to the card.
3. Stamp your sentiment on the aquarell paper and cut out in a rectangle shape. Adhere the sentiment then on blue paper and cut out with a very small border. Use 3-D foam tape to stick the sentiment to the card.
4. Position the stamped motifs where you would like to have them. For this card, two of the trees were glued directly onto the card. The house and third tree were adhered with 3-D foam tape to add depth to the card.
