Add a splash of color to your green plants in the spring by creating these quick and easy felt tulip plant pokes. They look attractive used singular or as a group. Kids can craft these as well. Strong craft glue can be used to replace the hot glue to keep the project safe and the stitching can be omitted.
For this project you will need:
- red, orange and green modelling felt (very stiff felt) - wooden skewers - hot glue gun - sewing machine with yellow thread - green acrylic paint
1. Print out the patterns to your choice of size and create permanent templates. 2. Trace the templates on the appropriate colored felt and cut out. 3. Hold the top piece of the tulip on the base piece and stitch first a decorative outline around the top piece using a zig-zag stitch. Then continue stitching around the remaining of the tulip. 4. Stitch around the leaf piece of the tulip. 5. Paint the skewer green and let it dry. 6. Use hot glue to attach the tulip and leaf onto the skewer.
