Take the 30 x 50 centimeter strip of fabric and fold it in half longways.
Sew the long open edge closed.
Turn the strip then to the right side and iron the seam and the folded edge flat.
Stitch a line down the folded edge.
Now pin the strip to the wrong side of one of the bag pieces. The stitched folded edge is on top.
You will notice that the strip is wider than the bag itself. This allows you to choose what height you exactly want to have your pocket. Once you have decided, pin the strip in place.
Use the quilter ruler and place it onto the strip along the edge of the bag piece underneath. Trace the shape of the bag on the fabric strip.
Then cut the excess away. The fabric strip now is exactly the same shape as the bag.
Repeat for the other side, too.
Now your pocket strip is exactly the same shape as the bag.
Pin it in place.
Decide how you would like to divide the pocket. Mark 2 or 3 lines with your chalk pencil vertically onto the fabric pocket strip.
Now sew a line across the bottom of the pocket strip from one side to the other side of the bag. Now the bottom of the pocket is in place.
Then sew down the vertical lines to create sections into the pocket.
This is now how the bag looks.
Place this finished part now with right sides facing onto the other bag piece and pin in place.
Sew down both sides of the bag.
Sew across the bottom of the bag and zig-zag the edges, to give the bag floor more strength.
