Mini-Scrapbook Album for Dog Friends and Dog Owners

Man’s best friend is being honored with this mini-album. If you know someone who has a big heart for their dog such as the owner of this gorgeous labrador, this would make a special personalised gift for them to always keep and cherish.

This shows the book standing up. There are a total of 16 sides (front cover, back cover and inside pages) to cover in this mini album but you may choose to use less pages, according to your own needs. The backside is covered with embossed cardstock that is otherwise left empty.

For this album; the following supplies were used:

- Sizzix Big Shot, Cuttlebug, Double-Do, Wizard or other favorite die cutting machine that is compatible with other brands of
  dies
- Sizzix Originals Die - “Album Cover & Page”
- 3 large album rings that can be opened
- cereal boxes
- scrapbook paper and cardstock in green brown, blue and white and coordinating scrapbook paper with various patterns and
  designs
- various dies from Sizzix, Cuttlebug, Spellbinders, etc... with small motifs such as flowers, seasonal motifs, leaves, etc...
- various embossing folders and embossing plates for creating different backgrounds
- epoxy stickers
- various beads, brads, charms, buttons, etc... to use as embellishments
- 3-D glaze for highlighting and adding dimension to papers and objects
- 3-D foam tape or pads for adding height to embellishments
- rubber stamps with sayings or printed sayings and poems
- eyelets
- pictures of the pet in different scenes
- various ribbons matching papers
- decorative edged scissors

Basic instructions for each page: Each page is first die cut out of a cereal box so that it has a certain stiffness. Then each page is covered with papers of choice and eyelets are added to all the holes for reinforcement. Follow then the instructions for embellishing each page as directed.

Instructions for the cover:

The cover is decorated with brown and green cardstock. Afterwards, the name of the pet was die cut by covering a cereal box with white paper and then using Cuttlebug “Olivia” dies to cut out each letter. This gave the letters an extra sturdiness. The picture is matted with blue cardstock. The flower is from the Sizzix Sizzlet die “Flower Blossom”. A piece of scrapbook paper with circles was covered with a circle epoxy sticker and cut then out and placed over the flower. 3-D pads were used to adhere the flower to the cover.

The poems and sayings chosen for this album all have to do with dogs and their relationship to man. If making an album for other pets such as cats, gerbils, bunnies, etc... , choose poems and sayings that are more appropriate to those pets.

The following pages will show and describe how the album was decorated. These can be used as inspiration and give ideas how you could decorate your own personal album.
