Make Clay Christmas Ornaments and Figures

These ornaments look so pretty and wintery in white and are so easy to make. Air drying modeling clay was used for them and it is an easy, fun and quick way to create your own Christmas decorations. The figures can be used, for example to embellish Christmas packages or for decorating and the ornaments can also be used as tags for Christmas gifts. You may paint them also, if you like. An example of a little painting that was done on the bear can be seen in the detailed images below.

Make Clay Christmas Ornaments

For this project the following supplies were used:

- white air drying modeling clay

Silicone Rolling Pin and Silicone Mat
- silicone mat and silicone rolling pin (these are great because the clay won’t stick to them) - if you do not have these, then
you can also use wax paper or similar to protect your table and a wooden rolling pin

Silicone Chocolate Candy Molds
- silicone Christmas candy molds

Christmas Cookie Cutters
- Christmas cookie cutters (these adorable cutters “Bakglad” were found in Ikea in 2017)

Silicone Mold With Houses
- also flat silicone cookie molds work well

Clay Christmas Ornaments
This is another image of the collection. The amount of figures would probably be larger if the clay did not run out while we were making these. That is a good reason to start making homemade clay.

Make Clay Bear Ornaments
Aren’t the bears so cute? The design is not only modern looking but adorable.

Make Clay Snowflake Ornaments
The details on the snowflakes are so pretty. The cookie molds worked well with the clay as long as the designs are larger, such as the bear and snowflake from the Ikea molds. Small areas such as legs like on the fox and elk from the Ikea molds were too tight to remove from the mold and got stuck.

Make Clay House Ornaments
Flat house molds make these wonderful looking ornaments. They are pretty in white but would also look cute painted.

Make Clay Christmas Figures
These are various Christmas figures that can be used for Christmas decorations, gift toppers, stocking stuffers, magnets, etc...

Painted Clay Bear Ornament
Details of the bear such as the eyes, nose and sweater collar were painted with acrylic paint. The nose and collar design were painted with red paint, the collar with silver paint and the eyes black..
