Patchwork Christmas Drawstring Gift Bag

This fabric gift bag in the colors of the season has a warm country charm and is sewn within a couple of hours. If you sew a lot, you surely have a lot of scrap pieces of fabric you could use for this project. This particular bag has a floor and can even stand on its own.

For this project you will need:

- cotton beige fabric or homespun fabric - cut two 10 cm x 30 cm strips
- red fabric - cut two 15 cm x 30 cm strips
- green fabric - cut two 15 cm x 30 cm strips
- interfacing for creating patchwork block
- basic sewing supplies such as thread, scrissors, seam ripper, etc...
- green cording

Instructions:

(Sew all parts of the bag with a 0.75 cm or a 1/4 inch seam allowance)

1. Create a crazy patchwork block by following the instructions in the crazy patchwork block tutorial. The size of the block used for this project is 11 cm x 11 cm.
2. To create front of the bag, sew 1 each red, green and checked strips together. The green fabric was used as the middle block for this bag but you can vary the fabrics.
