Baby Carriage or Baby Pram Card for the Birth of a Baby

Perhaps you know someone who has given birth to a baby and you would like to create a handmade card for the special occasion. You may choose to adapt the colors depending on the gender of the baby. This card is in apricot for a girl. If you are giving a card for a boy, a light blue or green may be more appropriate.

For this project you will need:

- white or cream colored 10 x 15 cm (or approximately 4x6 inches) blank card
- apricot colored cardstock
- textured cardstock in white or cream
- pattern for a baby carriage (see below)
- motif puncher with small heart
- paper ribbler
- scissors with decorative edge
- hole puncher
- 2 white mini-brads
- stamp with verse relating to the card - the verse here “Das Lächeln eines Kindes sagt mehr als 1000 Worte”, is in German
  and means “The laughter of a child says more than 1000 words”.
- black ink pad
- 3-D foam adhesive
- stick glue
- scissors

Baby Carriage/ Baby Pram Template

Instructions: Use the picture as a placement guide.

1. Design your own baby carriage shape or click on the thumbnail below to use the free template. The design should be about 6.5 cm in width. Trace the design on the apricot colored cardstock and cut out.
2. and set aside for a moment.
3. Cut a 8 cm square out of the light colored cardstock using the decorative edged scissors. Also cut out a 9 cm square out of the apricot colored cardstock using the same scissors. Adhere the smaller square centered onto the larger square.
4. Glue the carriage in the middle of the square. Turn the second (inside) carriage through the paper ribbler to corrugate it and adhere it over the carriage with 3-D foam adhesive. Punch a small hole through each of the wheels and then insert a brad in each hole.
5. Cut out a long trianglular shape from the apricot colored cardstock that is the length of the card. Place this piece through the paper ribbler and glue it then to the blank card.
6. Glue the embellished square now over the triangle.
7. Stamp your text onto the apricot colored paper and cut it out using the decorative edged scissors. Then adhere it to the card with 3-D adhesive foam tape.
8. Punch 2 small hearts out and adhere these to the card.
