Illustrated Sewing Tutorial - How to Sew the Butterfly Quilt Wall Hanging 2 - Sewing the Blocks Together
Seam allowance is already included. In all of the sewing steps, sew with the pressure foot along the edge of the fabric. That is approximately a 7mm or 1/4” seam allowance.

1. Start with the top 2 blocks and pin these together with the right sides facing each other.

2. Stitch these blocks together using the pressure foot as the seam allowance width. Repeat this step for the remaining 2 rows.

3. Always press your seam allowances on the backside open like this.

4. Once the 3 rows are sewn, sew row 1 to row 2 and then row 2 to row 3. Press seam allowances open again.

5. Now all of the blocks are connected. Iron the piece flat.
Now you will measure the front side of the quilt. Cut a backing piece and a piece of batting this same size and place all three layers together. The front of the quilt is facing up and on top, then comes the batting and then comes the backside with the good side down. Pin all of these layers together before continuing on to the next step.
