Happy Birthday Bird Card

What better motif than a bird for a spring card? The birds cheer us up with their lovely songs when the weather starts getting warmer after a cold winter and remind us of how sweet and lively life can be. This card is created using several die cuts so it is quick and easy to make.

For this project you will need:

- white square card 13.5 x 13.5 cm in size
- white cardstock
- three matching scrapbook papers of choice (here soft pastel colors were used)
- Cutting and Embossing machine like Cuttlebug, Sizzix Big Shot, etc...
- circle die, scallop die and swirls dies from Spellbinders


- Sizzix Bigz Die - “Bird with Wing”
- piece of cardboard like a cereal box
- embossing folder of choice for background
- happy birthday stamp
- black pigment stamp pad
- 3 small gold gems
- craft glue
- stick glue

Instructions:

1. Die cut a circle and a wing out of the first paper choice and set aside.
2. Die cut 2 swirls and a scallop larger than the circle out of the second paper choice and set aside for a moment.
3. Glue the second paper choice on a piece of cardboard and then die cut a bird out. This makes the bird a little more stiff. Adhere the wing to the bird and then set aside for a moment.
3. Emboss a white cardboard square that is 7 x 13.5 cm in size and adhere it to the top of the card.
4. Cut a 7 x 13.5 cm rectangle using the first paper choice and adhere it to the bottom of the card.
5. Cut a strip of paper from the third paper choice that measures 1 x 13.5 cm and adhere it over the seam of the two papers.
6. Now glue the two swirls to the left side and the bottom of the card.
7. Stamp “Happy Birthday” on the circle and then glue it to the center of the scallop.
8. Place 3-D foam tape to the backside of the scallop and also the bird and then adhere them to the card.
9. Glue 3 gems to the top right of the card.
