Birth Announcement or Greeting Card for the Birth of a Baby

Using the colors of lilac, pastel yellow or pastel green are choices if you want to create birth announcements or cards for the birth of a baby that are not in the typical baby blue or baby pink colors.

For this project you will need:

- white square card 13.5 x 13.5 cm in size (approximately 5 1/2 inches x 5 1/2 inches)
- white, lilac and purple cardstock
- die-cutting machine of choice (if you do not have such a machine, read below)
- circle and scallop dies (these are from Spellbinders)
- foam stamp cube from Plaid with baby motifs and a heart foam motif about the same size
- white pigment ink
- white embossing powder
- white ribbon
- craft glue
- 3-D foam tape
- double-sided adhesive or stick glue

If you do not have a die cutting machine, you can cut all the shapes out using scissors. Use either a circle compass or trace around small circular items to draw circles. Cut the smaller circles out using regular scissors. You could use decorative edged scissors to create a pretty edge to replace the the scalloped edge on the larger circles.

Instructions:

1. Stamp and emboss four images onto purple cardstock and then die cut four 4.7 cm or approximately 1 3/4 inch circles around each image. Place a piece of 3-D foam tape on the backside of each of these circles.
2. Die cut then four white 6 cm or approximately 2 1/4 inch scallops. Now adhere each of the four smaller circles on a scallop.
3. Cut a 12.5 cm or 5 inch square out of lilac cardstock and adhere it onto the white card.
4. Adhere each of the 4 scallops now onto the card.
5. Create a small bow and glue it to the center of the card.
