Autumn Centerpieces Using Glass Vases and Jars
Save any small jars or vases you can get your hands on. You can use these for any time of the year as inexpensive centerpieces. Depending on which season you are decorating for, you can change out the fillings and embellishments to fit the holiday or theme you choose. Here warm colors or red and oranges were selected to add an instant autumn touch to the room.

For this group, a wooden box was first embellished with felt leaves wrapped around with wire. Wrapping them with the wire keeps the box free from glue and then can be used for other seasons as well. Then the box was filled with moss, acorns, chestnuts and other fall items. Four small jars, each uniquely filled and decorated were then added to the inside of the box for a quick centerpiece for the season.

Here three different sized bottles were filled with rocks, sand and wood shavings and floral picks were then inserted into the bottles. On two bottles, fall leaves were wrapped with wire around the bottle neck to add more detail to the bottle.
Below you will find more examples of decorations.
This is a close-up of the decoration found above. You can see how the box is filled with autumn goodies. Each bottle is decorated differently to add variety to the centerpiece.
This are nifty candle holders that can be used for all seasons. Each one comes in 2 parts. The top part is a candle holder and can be removed so that the glass itself can be filled. Once the chosen filling is added. The candle holder gets then placed onto the bottom again. Fill then the top then with colored rocks. This has a few advantages. It keeps the candle from touching the glass which prevents that the glass could get too hot and break. It als adds color to the candle holder itself and enhances the look of the decoration. And last but not least, it raises the candle higher so it is not sunk in. Orange colored raffia was then wrapped around the decoration as a final touch.
