1. Trace the wing template on a folded cardboard box side. Make sure the straight line of the wing piece is lined up with the folded edge of the box..
2. When you open the template it will look like this. Fold it again and then cut along the line. That way you have a pair of wings.
3.Then repeat with the wing template on 2 pieces of glitter paper.
4. You will have then 1 pair of cardboard wings and 2 pairs of glitter wings.
5. Glue the glitter wings on both sides of the cardboard wings.
6. Then glue the wings on the backside center of the angel under the head. Hold the hair out of the way when gluing.
7. Then place the hair back over the wings.
8. Because the side wall of the cardboard base is not pretty, glue a piece of white ribbon along the side to cover it..
9. Because the sheer fabric was too translucent and the tube shone through too much, a skirt was created for the bottom half of the angel to cover the tube so it looked like the angel is wearing a dress. A piece of 30 x 55 fabric was cut and the top short edge was folded over to the point that the length of the fabric was the length of the angel from the belt to the base.
10. Then a gathering stitch was used for the short edge...
11. ... and this edge was then glued to the backside of the angel underneath the belt. First the one side of the gathered edge was glued down in place...
12. ... and the other side of the gathered edge is placed over it and overlaps it by about 1 centimeter and is then also glued down.
Now the angel has a pretty skirt under the draped sheer fabric and the tube does not show through.
13. Create a halo with the wire and leave a stem so it can be glued to the angel’s head.
14. Wrap the round halo with silver metallic chenille or pipe cleaner and then glue the stem to the backside of the angel’s head. Any excess length at the bottom of the stem can then be cut away after the glue dries if the stem is too long.
