Vintage Looking Artist Trading Cards

Scrap papers were used to first create a masterboard. Then the masterboard was cut out into 2 1/2 x 3 1/2 rectangles to create artist trading card shapes. These were in turn decorated with emphemera and stickers that were in the stash. Each one is a unique piece of art, yet they fit well together as a group. A project like this is a fun and perfect way to use up scraps you may have. 

For this project, these items were used:

- cardstock of you choice (should be heavier than typing paper) that is maybe one you do not like and it does not matter if you
  cover it up
- various pieces of paper scraps, book pages, etc... that look well together
- stick glue
- ruler and scissors or paper trimmer
- various emphemera, stickers, stamps, images from magazines, etc... whatever you have
- scrap pieces of lace, burlap, fabric, etc...

Instructions:

1. Here an old brown envelope was opened and used for this project. The scraps of paper were adhered randomly onto it

2. These are the cut out artist trading card shapes that resulted from the masterboard. The corners were then rounded and the edges were slightly inked with black ink.

3. Each artist trading card was then decorated as pleased. Here a pug image was placed behind a wooden bucket. A slit was cut under the arm to insert the bone.

Other than the size, there are no set rules. The object is to simply have fun.
