Country Wooden Refrigerator Magnets

You can recycle even the smallest pieces of wood, to create decorative items for your home. Combined with charming fabric with a country flair, you can craft these quickly and easily to decorate your refrigerator in the fall or anytime.

 

 

Fabric Craft with Wood - Fall Refrigerator Magnets 2

For this project you will need:

- scraps of plywood any thickness
- fabric-  “Kansas Song” by Susan Winget© for Benartex
- fusible Web
- Iron
- scroll saw
- sandpaper
- self-sticking magnets
- acrylic paint in coordinating colors
- paintbrush

Instructions:

1. Select your favorite motifs and cut these out.
2. Iron fusible web on the backside of the fabric.
3. After cooling, remove the protective paper backing of the fusible web and iron the motif then onto plywood.
4. Saw out around the outer edge of the motif.
5. Sand down the side edges.
6. Paint the sides with a coordinating color and let the paint dry.
7. Adhere self-sticking magnets to the backsides of the wood.
