Christmas Crafts - Christmas Cards - Patchwork Christmas Tree
With a few scraps of fabric, you can create original and decorative cards. This Christmas tree motif is quickly and easily made once you have learned the technique of mini-patchwork blocks. Follow the instructions in the link below. The pattern shown is a different one than here, but the technique is the same. Start with the first block one and continuing adding the pieces of fabric in numerical order. The finished patchwork piece gets then glued onto a piece of cardboard and a frame gets made out of green cardboard for it. Glue this then onto a blank card. A wooden gold star embellishes the tree.

Instructions:
1. Design a simple candle form combined with a star similar to the motif on this card. Of course, you may choose any other shape you desire. 2. Cut the design out of corrugated cardboard and lay aside. 3. Tear an irregular piece of the fiber paper out and use the stick glue to adhere this piece to the card in the middle. 4. Cut out a rectangle piece of the vellum that is smaller than the size of the card. 5. Lay the vellum on the card and punch a hole through each corner of the vellum and through the card as well. 6. Secure all of the holes with eyelets of your choice. 7. Use the double-sided self sticking tape and stick the corrugated cardboard motif to the card. 8. Stick the star gem to the motif also using the double-sided self sticking tape.
