Christmas Crafts for Kids - Clay Pot Christmas Tree

Ages 8 and older

When winter comes, kids also want to help make and decorate for the season. This project is easy for kids to do! Once the trees are painted and decorated with snow, kids may even choose to glue wooden balls onto the tree to embellish it more. Parents should supervise when children are working with a hot glue gun.

Supplies needed:

- Terracotta clay pots in desired size - 2
pots must the same size and 1 pot
  smaller than the other two
- green acrylic paint
- paint brush
- styrofoam ball for the top
- textured decorating paste (snow)
- clear glitter
- hot glue gun (Parents please supervise or
  assist)

Clay Pot Christmas Tree

Instructions:

1. Paint the clay pots and let them dry.
2. On the edges of the pots, add the paste thickly, and shake glitter onto the wet paste. Let these then dry before continuing. Depending on the temperature, they may have to dry overnight.
3. Using the hot glue gun, glue the pots on to each other. Start with the bottom pot and add the middle pot. Finally add the last pot.
4. Glue the styofoam ball on the top of the top pot. Add the paste to the ball and a bit on the top of the pot, shake glitter on the ball and let it dry.
