Find a paper napkin with a large design such as this teddy bear and you will be able to create faux antique looking paintings that looks like handmade. The technique is fun and the paintings are quick and easy and make very nice wall decorations for the holiday.
For this project you will need:
- paint canvas 13x18 cm or 5x7 inches - gold and white acrylic paints - crackling medium - paper napkin with bear design or design of choice - soft and flat paint brushes
Instructions:
1. Base coat the canvas with gold paint and let it dry completely. 2. Add a thick layer of crackling medium on the canvas and let it dry. 3. Brush on white paint. Make sure not to go over previous strokes again as this will destroy the crackling effect. Notice within a few minutes how the medium starts to crack. 4. Once the paint is dry, follow these instructions: Paper Napkin Applique Tutorial to apply the paper napkin. Let the painting dry completely.
