Christmas Crafts - Christmas Cards - Stars

Do you enjoy creating and giving home made cards but yet do not really have much time to spend crafting them? This card is quick, easy and inexpensive to make. If you have children, make it a family project. Children can help cutting out the stars, or punching the holes with in them or even with the assembly of the cards. Within no time you have a dozen cards made and the wonderful feeling that they are hand made.

- Blank white card
- stiff red felt
- hole puncher
- eyelets
- red piece of jute ribbon - 80 mm wide
- thin gold wire
- vellum with printed wish
- extra strength double sided sticky tape
- transparent double sided sticky tape
- template with stars (if available)
- scissors

Christmas Card - Red Stars Greeting Card for the Holidays

Instructions:

1. Use a template with star motifs or create a star template onto cardboard pieces and cut out. Transfer the shapes onto the red stiff felt. For each Christmas card, you need 1 larger star and 1 smaller star.
2. Cut the felt pieces out.
3. Punch a hole in the center of each star and secure the hole with an eyelet.
4. Cut a piece of the jute ribbon out. Fray each side by removing a couple of strings with tweezers.
5. Use the transparent double sided sticky tape and adhere the jute band onto the card.
6. Cut pieces of the extra strength double sided sticky tape, remove the backings of 1 side and stick them on the backsides of the stars.
7. Take a longer piece of wire and curl it a bit. Stretch the wire out again and insert it from the backside of one star and carry it over the star and insert it throught the front of the other star. Use the picture as reference. Carry the wire back and forth creating a random design. The end of the wire should be on the backside of either star.
8. Remove the backings of the other side of the extra strength double sided sticky tape on the stars. Now stick the stars over the jute ribbon on the card as seen in the picture.
9. Tear a piece of vellum out with your printed greeting. Punch 2 holes on either side of the vellum and through the front of the card. Place the eyelets through the holes to secure the vellum.
