The lid is slightly larger so that it will fit snugly over the bottom piece when both pieces are completed. 2. Once you have finished making the box you can decorate it as you please. Perhaps you could use a motif puncher and decorate it, or perhaps you would still like to wrap it or tie a ribbon around it.
