Autumn Crafts - Paper Crafts - Paper Scarecrow Decoration

This scarecrow is just to friendly looking to scare away the crows. Instead, let him decorate your window in the autumn months. It is easy to assemble and kids will have fun making it. You may of course choose other colors for his clothing. Make both sides identical and it will look good hanging in your window from both the inside and the outside.

 

 

Autumn Paper Craft - Kids Craft - Paper Scarecrow Decoration

For this project you will need:

- dark green, dark blue, red, beige and black cardstock
- brown colored corrugated cardboard
- black pen
- scissors
- stick glue or craft glue
- two gold brads
- string
- hole puncher

Patterns:
Scarecrow Body pattern  
Scarecrow Parts pattern

 

 

 

Instructions:

1. Print and trace the patterns out and transfer them to the appropriate colored paper or cardboard.
2. Cut the pieces out.
3. Glue the pants onto the body part, the shirt over the pants, then the head. Glue the hair onto the head and the hat over the hair.
4. Cut out triangle eyes and nose and glue onto face.
5. Draw a mouth with black pen.
6. Cut out small squares of paper and glue onto body to look like fabric scraps if desired. Using the black marker, making stitching lines onto the scrap pieces to look like the pieces got stitched on.
7. Make a bow out of the raffia and use craft glue to glue it on under the head if desired.
8. Repeat these steps for the back side as well.
9. Punch two small holes in the shirt and insert the brads to look like buttons.
10. Punch a small hole in his hat and attach a piece of string through for hanging.
