Happy Day Retro Tag

Pink and brown are the basic colors of this tag and make a perfect embellishment for a retro scrapbook page in this color theme. The paper pack suggested to the left is full of coordinating sheets of retro “flower power” paper in various color schemes. You can vary this tag to match your own needs.

For this project you will need:

- DCVW The Paper Stack “Retro Prints” (pack of 72 sheets of 12x12” paper)
- dark brown textured cardstock
- 5 light pink acrylic beads
- 2 pink brads
- thin jewelry wire
- needle for poking holes
- rubber or other stamp with saying “happy day”
- dark brown pigment stamp pad
- clear embossing powder
- 2 large circle self sticking bubbles/ epoxy circles (here from Jo Ann Craft Essentials)
- stick glue
- 3-D foam tape
- ribbon
- garment tag

Instructions for This Tag:

1. Cut a rectangular shape for your tag. Then cover the half of the tag with pink flowered scrapbook paper found in the pad. Cover the other half with the brown and pink flower paper.
2. Cut a strip of brown cardstock that measures the width of the tag and is 2 cm high. Poke holes along the edge of the entire piece and then glue down onto the middle of the tag, covering where the 2 papers meet.
3. Punch a hole in both the top and the bottom left side of the tag and insert the 2 brads.
4. Secure the 5 acrylic beads onto the wire and then wrap the wire ends around the brads. Cut off any excess length of wire.
5. Stamp “happy day” onto the pink top part of the tag using the brown pigment ink. Cover the image with clear embossing powder and heat emboss.
6. Create the bubble buttons by placing the bubbles over a flower image on the scrapbook paper. Cut around bubble.
7. Use 3-D double sided foam tape to attach the bubbles onto the tag.
8. Tie a matching satin ribbon through the hole at the top of the tag.
