Paper Craft for Christmas - Reindeer Gift Bag

How a gift is packaged is just as important as the gift itself. If you possess a die cutting machine (here the Sizzix Big Shot was used) and Christmas dies such as this gorgeous reindeer, you can create really cute motifs for paper bags in no time. To finish it off, a few jewels were added to give the bag an elegant touch.

Reindeer Gift Bag

For this project you will need:

- brown gift bag 9 x 13 centimers without the handles
- black, red, white and brown cardstock
- Sizzix Big Shot
- Sizzix Evergreen Embossing Folder from the “Evergreen & Snow Flowers Set”
- Cuttlebug Embossing Folder “Distressed Stripes”
- Sizzix Originals die “Reindeer”
- 3 red round faceted gems
- 6 iridescent sequins
- 1 black seed bead
- jewel glue
- stick glue
- double sided adhesive tape
- red curling ribbon
- decorative edged scissors with jagged edge
- scissors
- 3-D foam tape

Instructions:

1. Cut a 8 x 10 centimeter piece of red cardstock and emboss it using the Cuttlebug “Distressed Stripes” folder. Adhere the rectangle to the back using double sided adhesive.
2. Cut an 9 centimeter long oval using the decorative edged scissors (you can also die cut such an oval if you have a oval die). Emoss the oval with the Sizzix “Evergreen” embossing folder. Adhere the oval to the middle of the embossed red rectangle using 3-D foam tape.
3. Die cut a brown reindeer and then die cut a set of black antlers as well as a white collar. Adhere both of these to the reindeer. Glue 2 red gems onto the collar and 1 red gem over the nose. Glue on a seed bead for the eye. Now adhere the reindeer to the oval using stick glue.
4. Glue on sequins over the white area as highlights of snow.
5. Curl ribbon and attach to the handles of the bag.
