Christmas Craft - Paper Napkin Applique - Christmas Recipe Card Box

This project would make a really great gift for a mother who has a daughter moving out and wishes to pass on the family Christmas cookie recipes. The mother can hand write or print out the recipes on cards, fill the box and wrap as a gift. This idea is of course also excellent for anyone wishing to share favorite holiday recipes. It is a perfect decoration for the kitchen at Christmas time as well.

For this project you will need:
- purchased plain wooden recipe card box
- white acrylic paint and paint brush
- paper napkin with cookie motifs
- paper napkin applique glue or decoupage glue
- soft paint brush for the glue
- sharp scissors

Instructions:
1. Base coat the box in white and let it dry.
2. Cut out the gingerbread cookie motifs and remove all but the top layer of the paper napkin.
3. Follow these instructions in this tutorial Paper Napkin Applique Tutorial to apply motifs to the box. Try to go around the edges as well as cover all sides of the box.
